The house is a grand two story affair in Duke Street Richmond with 5 bedrooms, big lounge area and kitchen. Two bathrooms, two toilets and laundry, A smallish, half-covered backyard out the back with pool table, hills hoist and cushy arm chairs. Fruit trees and potential for a decent vegie patch out the front.
The available room is 3mx4m, upstairs, with a west facing window providing glimpses of Eureka Tower's gold plate, the church on Church St and fine views of MCG fireworks.
We have learnt through getting places without cars that it is 6 minutes walk to either Swan St or Bridge Rd (70, 48 and 75 trams), but you can make it in 2 minutes on a good day. 10 minutes walk to Burnley or East Richmond Station, and 15 to Richmond Station. A leisurely 10 minute cycle to Flinders Street Station.
There is an excellent barber on Swan St, a great Japanese place round the corner, Gypsey and Musquito make a decent coffee and you can get to Dan Murphy's and back in 20 minutes (30 minutes with a slab). Great spot.
Housemates are 22-30yo, ranging in interests but music is a fairly central one. Most work part time, one works full time, one studies full time. We tend to cook separately as our routines are usually sporadic but wine and cook ups are shared regularly.
The sharehouse has all the usual amenities, wifi, bills split etc. Housekeeping is relaxed but we keep the place neat.
The fruit trees are insane when in season, homemade lemonade is off the chain. You will be moving in as the best oranges this side of the Maribyrnong begin to ripen. Lucky you!
